Minimal Life, Maximum Impact

Aware of the impact of our consumption habits, more and more of us are seeking alternatives to big platforms and fast-paced production cycles. Minimal Life is the answer to this challenge that is suggested by Candela and Alícia, two entrepreneurs who have infused their personal values into a shop offering natural and zero-waste products. But their project goes much further: it’s a space for transformation, a sanctuary for anyone looking to live more sustainably, consciously, and in harmony with the planet.

With Heart and Conscience

Like so many others, the pandemic led Candela and Alícia to rethink their professional futures. From the outset, the two friends were clear about one thing: they wanted to break away from the consumption model that favours big global brands while side-lining quality, local sourcing, and sustainability. Passionate about caring for the planet, they founded an online shop that brings together natural and zero-waste products to meet everyday needs—from cosmetics and hygiene to home cleaning, textiles, pet care, and more.

Minimal Life champions artisanal, biodegradable, and locally made products crafted from responsibly sourced materials. It also adopts a policy of radical transparency, allowing customers to contact brands directly with any questions.

A Project with Triple Impact

Most of Minimal Life’s suppliers are small and medium-sized Spanish businesses, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions from transport and supporting the local economy. However, they also include a select range of international products when these help empower marginalised communities or guarantee fair working conditions. This social dimension is further reflected in their support for suppliers that employ vulnerable individuals who face barriers to entering the job market. In this way, Minimal Life’s approach adds up to a triple positive impact: environmental, social, and economic.

One of the most common obstacles to adopting a more sustainable lifestyle is the high cost of many products. Minimal Life challenges this norm by offering affordable and fair prices for both producers and buyers. “Investing in these products means investing in the planet, health, and people,” the founders explain on their website.

Knowledge and Empowerment

Minimal Life also aims to be a space for learning and empowerment. From their city centre shop in Eixample and online, they organise workshops such as the SAHO beauty ritual or handcrafted bookbinding—both inspired by the founders’ personal interests and professional backgrounds.

Candela, with her training in environmental management and experience in international anti-plastic NGOs, brings a deep understanding of zero-waste living. Meanwhile, Alícia, a bookbinder with over a decade of experience, offers sustainable stationery products and teaches customers how to make them.

Thanks to this space for learning and reflection, along with the loyal customer base they’ve built through excellent service and a carefully curated product selection, Minimal Life has grown into a community—a network of people who want to consume mindfully, value quality over quantity, and care about what they buy, where it comes from, and who made it.
