With experience in large hotel chains, Hugo Bertrand, CEO & founder, decided to present an economical and cosmopolitan alternative to the existing hotel offer in Barcelona, in this way chic&basic emerged.

In October 2003, chic & basic born boutique opened its doors for the first time in Barcelona on Calle Princesa in Barcelona. A three-star hotel, full of details and oozing design. They combined tradition and futurism in buildings from 1900 and 1929, with ceilings that exceed 7 meters in height.
